Services
Here's the thing about renovations: they're expensive, stressful, and full of decisions you'll have to live with for the next 20 years. Get it wrong and you're looking at tens of thousands in mistakes, months of delays, and a home that looks okay but doesn't actually work for how you live.

That's where Studio Fernandes comes in.

I work with time-poor professionals across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Northern NSW who don't have six months to spend on Pinterest or the energy to chase down suppliers. My job is to eliminate costly mistakes, save you from decision fatigue, and design spaces that actually function. No trends for the sake of trends, no rooms that photograph well but fall apart in real life.

Whether you need complete documentation to hand your builder or full project management, we have a package that fits so you never have to think about it again.
1
Concept Design
Get professional design documentation without paying for full-service.

Why This Matters
Most renovation regret comes down to three things: choosing materials that don't work together, poor spatial planning, and buying stuff that doesn't fit.
My Concept Design Package fixes all three. You get a complete design plan with every material specified, every dimension sorted, and every product sourced. No guesswork, no Pinterest rabbit holes, no expensive mistakes.
Hand this to your builder and they'll actually know what you want instead of guessing.

Full Design Service
For renovations and builds where the details matter.

Why This Matters
Here's what people underestimate: lighting makes or breaks a space, joinery needs to be planned to the millimetre, and builders need crystal-clear documentation or you'll get "builder's choice" on everything.
Full Design Service means nothing's left to chance. Every light switch is positioned for how you move through the space. Every material is specified down to the grout colour. Your builder gets documentation so clear they won't need to ask questions.

This is for people who get that detailed planning now prevents expensive fixes later.

What's Included
Everything in Concept Design Package, plus:
-
1-hour onsite consultation included (I see the space, understand what we're working with, catch issues early)
-
Detailed site measure if existing plans are hard to read or don't exist
-
Lighting plan with electrical layout and fixture specs (positioned for how you use each space, not builder's default)
-
Joinery design concepts with dimensions (your cabinet maker gets clear direction)
-
FF&E schedule with full specs (furniture, fixtures, equipment all sourced)
-
Complete material specifications with suppliers and product codes (your builder orders exactly what you chose, not "something similar")
-
Physical sample board where possible (see and feel materials before committing)
-
Two rounds of revisions
-
Builder coordination for RFIs and spec questions (up to 3 hours)
-
In-person presentation plus complete digital documentation

What This Prevents
-
Lighting positioned for looks instead of function (switches in the wrong place, not enough task lighting, or a house full of downlights)
-
"Builder's choice" substitutions because specs weren't clear
-
Joinery that looks good but doesn't store what you actually own
-
Materials that don't hold up to your lifestyle (beautiful but impractical)
-
Endless texts from your builder asking you to make decisions

What You're Really Buying
Peace of mind. You're not managing a renovation while trying to do your actual job. Your builder gets documentation good enough that they don't need to bother you. When issues come up (they always do), we've already thought through the solutions.

Design + Project
Management
For people who want a beautiful home but don't want to think about grout colour.

Why This Exists
You don't have time to chase builders, approve samples, attend site meetings, or make seventeen decisions every week. You hired a builder to build and a designer to design, and you'd like both of us to just handle it while you focus on your actual life.

This package is for people who value their time more than being involved in every detail. I manage the entire design execution from construction through final walk-through so you can show up at the end to a finished home.

What's Included
Everything in Full Design Service, plus:
-
Ongoing project management from construction through completion (I'm the point person, not you)
-
Regular site visits based on project stage (I catch issues before they become problems)
-
Contractor and trade coordination for all design decisions (you're not fielding calls from electricians)
-
Schedule and budget tracking for design elements (keeping everything on track)
-
Sample and mock-up review onsite (I approve or reject so you don't have to visit site every week)
-
Quality control for design implementation (making sure what's being built matches what was designed)
-
Final walk-through and defects list for design elements (I catch every issue before you see it)

What You're Not Doing
-
Answering "where does this light switch go?" texts at 7am
-
Taking time off work for site meetings
-
Agonising over whether the tile sample matches the benchtop
-
Lying awake wondering if the builder's doing it right

What You Are Doing
-
Living your life
-
Showing up at the end to a finished home
-
Trusting professionals to handle what they're good at

Who This Is For
Time-poor professionals who earn more in the hours they'd spend managing a renovation than they'd pay for this service. People who get that their time has value and would rather pay someone else to handle the chaos.

What We Don't Do
Builder defects and warranty issues (that's between you and your builder). General construction management (your builder handles that). I manage design execution, quality control, and coordination. Your builder manages the build.

Your outdoor space is an extension of your home, not an afterthought. I design hardscaping and alfresco areas that connect to your interior aesthetic and actually get used year-round.

Complete alfresco design including materials, lighting, and furniture
-
Planting plan and species selection for your climate and how much maintenance you want to do

Why This Matters
Most people treat outdoor spaces as separate projects and end up with a disconnect between inside and out. I design them together so your home feels cohesive.

Common uses:
"I need help choosing paint for three rooms", "We're stuck on pendant lights", "Can you come furniture shopping with me?"
Our Process
1. Discovery
Every project starts with a 15-minute call. We talk through your goals, timeline, budget, and what's stressing you out about this project. From there, we'll recommend the package that makes sense for your situation. No hard sell, just honest advice about what you actually need.

2. Proposal & Agreement
You get a proposal that spells out exactly what we're delivering, when you'll get it, and what it costs. Everything's clear upfront. Once you approve, we sign a service agreement and you're officially off the Pinterest treadmill.

3. Design Development
I get to work. You fill out a design brief, I develop concepts based on how you actually live (not how spaces photograph), and present options that are decisive, not overwhelming. You get professional recommendations, not endless choices that leave you stuck.

4. Documentation & Handover
All design documentation gets delivered organised, professional, and detailed enough that your builder won't need to guess. For Full Design Service clients, I am available for builder coordination and specification questions because contractors always have questions.

5. Project Support (if applicable)
For Design + Project Management clients, I am involved through the entire build. Coordinating with trades, attending meetings, approving samples, and handling all the micro-decisions, so you can focus on your life.
Ready to start?
Most people spend months researching, second-guessing, and stressing about their renovation or build before they finally hire a designer. Then they wish they'd done it six months earlier.

If you're ready to stop agonising and start building, book a discovery call. We'll talk through your project, I'll answer your questions, and we'll figure out if I am the right fit.
